A Ceramic Studio on a Working Farm in Sandy, Oregon

Sandy River Studio

Sandy River Studio sits inside an old dairy barn above the Sandy River, about an hour outside Portland on Flying Coyote Farm. The space belongs to artist and land-based creative Jaime Holub, who welcomes visitors into a quiet, hands-on introduction to clay.

The studio is simple in the best way: barn light coming through long windows, clay and tools arranged along a communal worktable, shelves slowly filling with vessels shaped on site. Sessions run about two hours and move at whatever pace you arrive with. Some people sit at the wheel. Others build slowly by hand. Experience isn’t required—only curiosity.

Afterward, the experience continues with a seasonal farm meal served at the table, often on dishware Jaime has shaped herself. It’s a small but meaningful gesture that connects the making to the land around it.

What happens here feels less like a class and more like a return—to touch, instinct, and the quiet satisfaction of forming something that didn’t exist before you did.

Private and group sessions are available year-round.
